Rose water is prepared by distilling rose petals with steam. Rosewater is sometimes used as a mild natural fragrance as an alternative to chemical-filled perfumes.

  • Rosewater as a Toner: 

A toner is used in many skin care routines to removes leftover oils and dirt from the skin. Hence, a toner helps in cleansing the skin thoroughly while maintaining the skin’s delicate pH balance. While most toners available in the market are all filled to the brim with alcohol and dry out the skin. Pure rose water is incredibly gentle in nature which help clean the pores of oil and grime.
Use it regularly as a toner (at least 3 times a week) and Rose Water will help prevent problems like blackheads, whiteheads, acne, and pimple.

  • Rosewater as a Makeup Remover:

Rose water helps as the best makeup remover because a lot of people with sensitive skin have problems in choosing makeup remover.
Rose water also contains astringent properties and when applied liberally on the face with a cotton pad or ball, it can help in gently dissolving your makeup by mixing in with the oils present on your skin and breaking it all down, and used just as a regular makeup remover product.  

  • Rosewater as a Cleanser:

Rose Water removes the leftover dirt which the cleanser fails to take off.  Mix 2-3 teaspoons of Rosewater with 1 teaspoon of Fuller’s Earth (also known as Multani Mitti), mix it in till it is smooth , and apply it by spreading it on to your face evenly. Let the mix stay on your face for 2 minutes and then wipe off gently with a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water, then rinse your face.

  • Rosewater as a Moisturizer:

Rose water acts as the best moisturizer. Mix in 4 teaspoons of rosewater with 2 teaspoons of raw honey, and apply it on to your face, leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. The raw honey has hydrating benefits along with antioxidants, mixed with rosewater acts as the best moisturizer.

  • DIY Face Packs using Rosewater:

Below are some of the face packs with rose water for all skin types.

FOR DRY SKIN

1.     Take one tbsp of aloe vera gel and raw honey each, into 2 tablespoons of rosewater.
2.     Mix them well.
3.     Apply liberally onto your cleansed but wet face.
4.     Wash it off with cold water after 10 minutes.

The raw honey has hydrating properties, while aloe vera gel and rosewater work on the inflammation and irritation which can occur due to extreme dryness of the skin.

FOR NORMAL SKIN
1.    Take 2 teaspoons of gram flour, with 1 tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt, into 4 tablespoons of rosewater.
2.      Mix them well
3.     Apply liberally to your face and neck.
4.     Wash it off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

The gram flour helps to exfoliate your skin while the yogurt moisturizes and the rosewater takes off the dirt and provides hydration.

FOR OILY SKIN

1.     Take 1 tablespoon of Bentonite Clay and 2 tablespoons of fresh cucumber juice to 2 tablespoons of rosewater.
2.      Mix them well
3.      Apply mask evenly on the face.
4.     Leave the mask for 8-10 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

The Bentonite clay used in the pack, similar to Fuller’s Earth, is very absorbent and will extract the excess sebum and dirt out of your pores, and so does the rosewater along with hydrating the skin, while the cucumber juice soothes and moisturizes the skin lightly.

 Sandalwood contains antibacterial properties that prevent skin conditions like acne, pimples, and dry skin. It also contains skin lightening properties.

 Ingredients
·        Take 1 tbsp rosewater and 1 tbsp sandalwood powder.
·        Add some rosewater to a bowl. Next, add some sandalwood powder.
·        Mix both the ingredients together until you get a consistent mixture.
·        Apply the pack to your face and neck. Allow it to stay for about 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with normal water.
